The Yorkshire Peat Partnership successfully supported a stakeholder engagement workshop with Dr. Lucie Middlemiss from the Sustainability Research Unit at Leeds University. The day trip took place at Cray Moss, a National Trust site, the main research question that the day centred around was; What are the tensions and synergies between stakeholders associated with peatland restoration?

Unmanned aerial vehicle takes flight over the Yorkshire Dales

An exciting new pilot study has been launched at Cray Moss; a National Trust peatland site in the YorkshireDalesNational Park. Along with the Yorkshire Peat Partnership which restores damaged peatlands and the National Trust, the Science and Technology Facilities Council have flown an unmanned aerial vehicle or UAV over the site in order to capture high resolution photography of the landscape stretching over kilometres.
Successful YPP monitoring season!

YPP has successfully implemented restoration works monitoring in the Dales and the North York Moors. A volunteer workshop was held at Brimham Rocks in conjunction with Stephen Morley from the National Trust. Over 20 people attended and the day was successful. To date, 3 sites have been monitored by Astrid and Mark with the help of Pete and a dedicated few volunteers.
